Prichard, Arthur Lyle
One of the things some of us do for entertainment is go to the dog races. Our bombardier Art Kirsis is a compulsive gambler. He will bet on anything and is always in a card or crap game, so this dog racing thing is right up his alley.
We went to the races one afternoon and soon became separated from Art. A while later he came up to us and informed us that he had just received a hot tip on the net race and we should bet a bundle on it. Knowing Art and his hot tips we wouldn't bet a sixpence on it. The dogs all wear little jackets with numbers on them so you can find the one you bet on while they are chasing the mechanical rabbit around the track. The race started and one dog got his front foot caught in his number jacket and was running around the track on three legs. The three-legged greyhound beat that hot tip dog of Kirsis by three lengths. Boy, we are never going to let him live this one down.
