The twenty third mission on March 22, 1945, was a raid on the air field hangers at Kitzenger. We were Deputy Wing Lead, and we carried four 500 pound bombs. The Command Pilot's name was Johnson. It was a visual drop on the target. The mission took eight hours and five minutes. This mission was also the two hundredth mission for the 467th Bomb Group. A two hundredth mission party was held with an air show of stunt flying by our friendly P-51 Mustang and P47 Thunderbolt fighter pilots. It was a great show, but a Mustang tried a roll at one hundred feet, where he lost control and crashed.
