We had a nine man crew with Lt Schram as Co Pilot flying his first mission and S/Sgt Obert as tail gunner again. We carried and dropped 12 - 500# GP bombs on an oil refinery at Harburg, Ger. just south of Hamburg. We encountered light flak at the coast going in, intense at the target and moderate on the way out. We had several flak holes but none were too serious. P-47's gave us fighter protection and we encountered no opposition.
