We were Squadron Lead to Zwiesel on April 21, 1945. We carried two 1000 pound bombs, and we dropped the bombs on the railroad tracks scoring excellent results with a visual bomb run. This was my twenty eighth mission, and it took eight hours and ten minutes.

My twenty eighth mission was my last combat mission, and it was the 219th mission for the 467th. The Eighth Air Force was about through their task in the European Theatre of Operations (ER)). The 467th Bomb Group flew their last mission on April 25, 1945, after having flown 221 combat missions.

All hostilities against the Nazi was terminated on May 8, 1945.
