Up at 0330 for briefing at 0430. Another trip to the Ruhr to a synthetic
oil plant a few miles north of Cologne. Manheim was the name of the
town . Everything went swell, we had a beautiful ship and there was
no flak on our formation. We could see it over Cologne on the right
and Dusseldorf on the left. Plastered the target with 24/250#.
Beginning yesterday, we are flying 6-ship squadrons and bombing as
such. Went to Mass at 1700, ate, cleaned up and went to bed.
