Briefed to Valley, Wales. Took off at 1048 GMT, and went to 5,000.
On course were Rennish Point, Tiree, Rhinns Point, Mul of Kintyre, Isle of Man then Valley. We had to alter course at Tiree and Mull of Kintyre for convoys of 10 and 13 ship respectively. Valley approach control and tower were "Henpeck" and our name was now "Steelwork Fox". a 2:10 flight. Made instrument approach breaking out at 2,500. When we landed we got an awful blow - they said we'd have to give up our plane and go on by train. Unloaded everything, sold plane to ATC - we hated to leave it. Went to a show and saw Bataan.
