We took off Sunday morning at 0800 for a mission to Hamburg, Ger. J. Doole our Co Pilot got sick after takeoff fell out of the open bomb bay at 3,000 ft over the channel. Lt Downing our Bombardier was the only one to see him fall. He saw his chute start to open but apparently it never broke his fall. We went down through the clouds and flew very low for over three hours but never saw any sight of the body. Air Sea Rescue arrived in the search but to no avail.
