We flew as a nine man crew with Mike in the nose, Lt Post as our regular Navigator and I flew right waist. We hit extremely bad weather and had to climb to 26,200 ft to get above the clouds where it was -42 degrees. The clouds broke near the target and we dropped down to 21,300 ft where we bombed the marshaling yards at Karlsruhe, Ger. with 6 - 1000# GP bombs. We encountered moderate and accurate flak at the target and saw no enemy fighters.
