Flynn, Joseph Leo
Flew 7:30 on this one and carried 36 150-lb. G.P.’s.

Flak was classified as meager and inaccurate. Very few burst were thrown up at the airfield (target). We did see a lot of flak over the big cities but we skirted the flak batteries. That stuff fascinates me when it’s out of range. The jets, ME262’s, flew through our squadron but didn’t fire at us. We had to [sic] hit the target visually. We had 10/10th right to the target but over the target the clouds broke to about 4/10 to 6/10ths & we were able to see the target. We bombed from 19,800 ft., and flew No. 3 in the lead squadron. This came out a couple of days after this mission: 14 Me-262’s were down - 10 probable and 26 damaged. [sic]
