The lady got us up at 0530 and she warmed up some C rations we had brought in. Met Capt. Ashley of S-2 and the Squadron navigator last night and they are going back with us - also 2 other guys whose crew left them here a few days ago. Took off about 1000. By the way, we also have a bottle of champagne with the 10 bottles of wine. The guys almost mobbed us when we carried it into the hut, but we're saving it for a party for the five of us. Since we're back on operations, they have a practice mission up. Saw a lot of interesting things in France - trenches from the last war, German planes shot down, some strafed before take off, bomb damage, etc. The people said the Boche would turn white as a ghost when we'd bomb and they'd run for the shelters and the French would laugh at them. The latrines on the streets are also quite an oddity. The wine cost 160 francs per bottle and the champagne, 275/ea. Got a box from Louise and several letters from her and from home and wrote to both.
