Photo believed to have been taken during training at Wendover AAB. The aircraft they are picture in front of is believed to be 41-29427 'Ready Willing and Able'. This is the aircraft they were assigned to at Wendover and ferried overseas. She was "taken" from them shortly after arriving at Rackheath and assigned to the 392nd BG.

The Ken Driscoll crew had the distinction of leading the 467th with Col. Shower as command pilot on the Group's first combat mission on 10th April 44 to Bourges, France. Harold Pantis (Navigator) was taken POW, George Brannan and Richard Creighton (Gunners) were KIA when flying as replacements with the Harrison crew (Crew#018-R0) on the Brunswick mission of 8th May 44.

Photo taken at Wendover during initial training. Upon arrival at Rackheath copilot Alford Robinson was given his own crew and replaced by Lt. Harold Chilver. The Russell crew completed missions on the 11th August 44 but Lt. Chilver was killed 7th August 44 when returning on his second mission with his own crew, crashing close to Rackheath.
