• P-51 crash site between Sites 04 & 05
    Photo of the "Communal" site taken from Site #05. On the other side of the fense can be seen the crash site of the P-51 that crashed during the 467th's 200th mission celebration.

    On the left is the Gymnasium. The horizontal building to the right is Ration (w/ meat) Store. The building to the far right is the Ration (Breakdown) Store.

    The first building just behind the Gymnasium is the NAAFI Quarters and just visible behind that is a portion of the Aero Club.

  • P-51 crash site between Sites 04 & 05
    During the 200th Mission Party, on Sunday 22 Apr 45, a P-51 made an impromptu appearance during the 'Air Circus' portion of the program. While performing some aerobatics the pilot crashed and was killed. Seen here is the wreckage of the aircraft in the field in-between Sites 4 & 5..

    In the background can be seen the Gymnasium on the left, the 'Ration Breakdown Store' in the middle and the 'Ration Store - with Meat Store' on the right.
