Aerial view of airfield from southwest. "Tech Site' is located at the bottom of the screen with it's T2 hanger. Hardstands 44-47 are located bottom right. Hardstands 48-49 are on the bottom protruding onto the airfield. Hardstands 50 and 1-3 are located just above the west side T2 hanger with the Control tower inbetween hardstand 49 and 50.
On the right hand side of the photo can be seen hardstands 13-20 of the 789th BS.
Along the top of the airfiled can be seen the east side T2 hanger flanked by hardstand 21-34. On the very left are hardstands 35-37.
The Main Runway (03-21) runs from bottom right to top left. Runway 08-26 is on the left side and Runway 14-32 is running horizontally across the image.

View across the airfield from the control tower. In the foreground is the "windsock". In addition, the concrete pad ’Signal Squares’ can be seen. The "squares" were a bit archaic by this time, however, gave fliers some readable info about landing conditions, and positively identified the base so radio transmissions could be avoided.
In the distance can be seen the east side T2 (Squadrons) hanger. Hard stands 21-34 can be seen from left to right with their parked aircraft. The farm house on the east side of the field can be seen in the distance to the right.

The main runway being cleared of snow during early 1945. In the distance centered can be seen the Control Tower and the "wind sock". Just to the right of the forsground truck can be seen the west side (470th SD) T2 Hanger
