  • Tail Turret Failure
    Aftermath of junction box fire. Shortly after takeoff a fire broke out in the junction box between the tail turret and bulk-head. Crew received a citation for their actions and landing the aircraft.
  • Formation of B-24's during training at Wendover
    Photo taken during training at Wendover AAB in late Jan-early Feb '44, in the foreground is 41-29385. She would be named 'Double Trouble'. The middle aircraft is 42-52350. Her name would become 'Volk's Virgin Vultures'.
